AFCAT - Air Force Combined Admission Test



Air Force Combined Admission Test, commonly known as AFCAT is a defence admission test that is conducted by the Indian Air Force twice every year  for recruitment of graduates to the Short Service Commission program in Flying Branch and Permanent/Short Service Commission in Technical and Ground Duty Branches of the Air Force. The post and course are detailed by following titles

Flying Branch:
  •     No. 12 Short Service Commission (12 SSC) Course
Technical Branch:
  •     No. 83 Aeronautical Engineers (83 AEC) Course (Permanent Commission)
  •     No. 55 Short Service Commission (55 SSC) Course

Eligibility criteria

1. Flying Branch

Education: Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 60% marks from a recognized University or Bachelor of Engineering / Bachelor of Technology with 60% marks. Candidate must have Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects in 12th class examination.
Age: 19 to 23 years

2. Technical Branch

Education: BE/B.Tech degree in valid branch of engineering
Age: 18 to 28 years

3. Ground Duty

Education: Graduate degree
Age: different for different posts

AFCAT Exam syllabus and pattern
  • General Awareness - History, Sports, Geography, Environment, Civics, Basic Science, Defence, Art, Culture, Current Affairs, Politics etc.
  • Verbal Ability in English - Comprehension, Error Detection, Sentence Completion, Synonyms, Antonyms and Testing of Vocabulary.
  • Numerical Ability - Decimal Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & loss, Percentage, Ratio & Proportion and Simple interest.
  • Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test - Verbal Skills and Spatial Ability
The AFCAT Question Paper will have 100 questions carrying 3 marks each.

Candidates who qualifying in the AFCAT Written test will be called for next phase of selection process divided into three stages ie.
  •     Stage-I Intelligence Test
  •     Stage-II Psychological Test, Group Test and Interview
  •     Stage-III Pilot Aptitude Battery Test (PABT)

CAT 2014 Exam Schedule, Admit card date



The Common Admission Test (CAT) is an annual admission test conducted by the IIMs for admission of candidates to various management and business administration post graduation programs in IIMs, IITs, NITs and other reputed management colleges in India.

CAT exam is usually conducted in November every year by one of the IIMs. Here is the complete schedule of CAT 2014 exam
  • Advertisement date: July 27, 2014
  • Online registration process: August 6 to September 30, 2014
  • Admit card available to download: October 19 1:00 PM to November 22, 2014
  • CAT 2014 Exam Dates: November 16 and November 22, 2014
  • Result declaration date: Third week of December 2014
CAT 2014 official advertisement was released on 27th July in all leading newspapers. Candidates, who want to get admission in IIMs, IITs or any other reputed college for MBA and other management programs for session 2015-16, must have applied for CAT 2014 exam before the last date as mentioned above. Candidates, who had already applied for CAT 2014 exam, are now waiting for their exam admit cards.

CAT 2014 admit card was scheduled to be released on October 16, but was postponed later for Oct 19, 2014. Candidates will be able to download their CAT exam admit cards from the official website on the date and time as mentioned above.

RRB Junior & Senior Engineer Recruitment 2014, Exam Details



Railway Recruitment Board is going to conduct a common examination for recruitment of junior and senior engineers in various departments of Indian Railways. The online application process is still ongoing and candidates can apply for this recruitment on or before October 19, 2014. RRB will conduct exams for this recruitment in December this year.

SSC CGL Answer Key 2014 for Tier-I Exam

SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam is scheduled on October 19 and 26 for candidates who applied for it. The exam will be conducted in two shifts on both days. There will be four different paper codes in each shift. This makes it total 16 different question papers. Question paper for 19 October exam will be different from that of 21st October exam.

SSC CGL Answer Key 2014 for all 16 paper codes will be released and updated exclusively on our website as well as on our blog. The Staff Selection Commission is all set to conduct Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) 2014 exam on for recruitment of LDC and DEO in various government agencies in India. The exam is scheduled on November 2 and 9, 2014. According to the recent update from the commission, SSC CHSL 2014 exam admit cards will be released very soon, probably on or after October 15.

English Comprehension Tips for SSC CGL Exam 2014

SSC CGL 2014 Exam is scheduled on October 19 and 26 for candidates who had applied for the CGL 2014 exam this year. Candidates can download their SSC CGL Admit Card 2014 from the official website of the SSC

English Comprehension is one of 4 parts of the SSC CGL Tier-I written examination. The paper includes 50 questions worth of 50 marks. Candidates are required to read the given passage and answer the questions based on that passage. These questions are asked to check the understanding and knowledge power of the students.



Here are some tips for English Comprehension paper of SSC CGL

  • Read the passage carefully (Assign separate time for it)
  • Answer questions only using the information given in the paragraph
  • Do not use outside knowledge
  • Read instructions carefully
  • Make guesses based on your knowledge and sense. Read all the options before answering the question
  • Read the question first, try to find the relevant line from the para and evaluate the answer

Rajasthan University Online Exam Form 2014-15

In an official notification published in a leading newspaper, Rajasthan University has clarified that the application process for University exams 2014-15 will start from October 6. The application will be accepted online through the University website and the payment will have to be deposited through E-mitra.

SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Answer Key 2014


SSC Stenographer exam 2014 was conducted by the Staff Selection Commission on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Candidates, who appeared in this exam, can now check their exam score by using the SSC Stenographer Answer Key given here. The answer key is available on for Group C and Group D. CCSU Results 2014 for MA, BA, B.Com, B.SC, BCA

Symbiosis International University is going to start the online application process of SNAP 2014 exam from today 5 PM onwards.
